Founder of Loyeo

Loyeo was born on a Friday evening, a glass of wine in hand. My wife and I were complaining that our favorite shops, the bakery round the corner, our favorite restaurant, had nothing but a cardboard card to stamp. A card we forgot every single time, that turned up empty at the back of a drawer, and that ended up frustrating us more than rewarding us.

That very ordinary frustration led to a simple conviction: an independent shop owner deserves the same loyalty tool as a big chain, without the complexity or the cost, and their customer deserves never to forget their card again.

The bakeries, restaurants, salons and delicatessens that keep our neighborhoods alive lose customers for want of a simple way to bring them back. The cardboard card gets lost, apps are expensive and nobody installs them. Loyeo answers that problem: a digital loyalty card in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, a QR code at the counter, follow-ups over WhatsApp. Nothing for the customer to install.

On this blog I write what I see on the ground with the shop owners who use Loyeo: what works to build loyalty, what does not, and how to choose a program that fits your shop rather than one more tool.
